Mr. C found this guy sitting on a branch this morning and simply reached out and picked him up. He and Bootsie brought him up to the porch so I could take his picture. Because he sat there serenely in Bootsie's open palm, we all assumed he was hurt and couldn't fly. Two seconds later, he took off and flew into a tree.
We looked him up in our wildlife book and found that he was a male Golden-crowned Kinglet. He was very cute!
